ATTENTION: EndPopups.com does not use popup ads to advertise!!!

There is a website with a similar name to EndPopups.com that is sending Messenger Service popup ads in order to advertise their software. I assure you that EndPopups.com is not responsible for any ads you are receiving.

Please look closely at the ad you are receiving before sending nasty mail to me. Click here to read about blocking these ads.

How do I uninstall Popup Manager?

You can uninstall Popup Manager from the "Add/Remove Programs" icon in Control Panel.

Does Popup Manager work with browsers other than Internet Explorer?

No. Popup Manager ONLY works with Internet Explorer.

It does not work with Netscape, AOL, MSN Explorer, Avant or Opera, even if that browser is based on "Internet Explorer technology".

There are no plans to make it work with anything other than Internet Explorer, sorry.

Will Popup Manager work on a Mac?

No. There are no plans to make Popup Manager work on Macs. You may want to try Apple's new Safari browser.

How much does Popup Manager cost?

Popup Manager is free for personal use, those that find it useful are encouraged to make a donation.

If you would like to license Popup Manager for commercial use or are interested in incorporating it into your own product please click here to request more information.

I installed Popup Manager but I still receive popups. Why is this?

Most likely you have Spyware or Adware installed, you should run AdAware or SpyBot to remove it.

My Internet Explorer title bar only shows one letter. Why is this?

This can happen if you install Popup Manager on Windows 95/98/ME and then upgrade to 2K/XP or the installer may have incorrectly identified your operating system at install time.

The latest version fixes this problem, you can download it here.

Does Popup Manager launch it's own popups?

Ummmm.....No! Believe it or not some people actually ask this question.

I put a lot of time and effort into blocking popup ads, I would be pretty foolish to launch my own.

Why do I still receive "Messenger Service" popup ads? These ads are delivered in a dialog box with plain text and an OK button. You can see what such an ad looks like by clicking here (at the bottom of the page).

Popup Manager doesn't block this type of ad. You need to disable the windows "Messenger Service" to get rid of them.

You can read how to disable the "Messenger Service" at LanTalk.net or StopMessengerSpam.

I make no guarantees about the content of either site.

How do I start Popup Manager when windows starts, I don't see the Popup Manager program anywhere?

Popup Manager is automatically loaded by Internet Explorer each time you start it. There is no need to start a separate application

How long are popups kept around for after they are launched?

Blocked popups are kept around for 2 page turns.

So if a popup is blocked on site A and you navigate to site B, you will still see the popup from site A, all of site A's popups will be removed from list when you navigate to site C.

How can I find out when new versions of Popup Manager are released?

You can find this out by right clicking the widget and selecting "Check for Popup Manager Update...".

In the future I may maintain an email list which will be notified of new releases, but I don't have time right now.

After viewing a PDF file in Internet Explorer and closing the window, I get a message indicating there was an error. Why is this?

This issue is fixed in the latest version, please upgrade if you have experienced this problem, sorry for the inconvenience.

Will Popup Manager work with other popup blockers.

No. You should uninstall all other popup blockers.

Because of the many different ways that popup blockers are written, they generally don't work well together.

Does Popup Manager block popups from HTML emails viewed from Outlook, Outlook Express etc.?

No, Popup Manager will not block these popups.

I still hear sounds, even though the popup has been blocked. Why is this?

This is a known issue, I'm looking into suppressing sounds from popups that have been blocked.

I've installed but don't see the green widget what is wrong?

If you have Windows NT/2K/XP, you need to have adminstrative privileges to install.

If you have IE 5.0 I recommend upgrading, there is a bug in IE 5.0 that may prevent the Popup Manager from loading.

You can determine your IE version by choosing "Help...About Internet Explorer" from IE's main window.

I've installed and see the green widget but it never turns red.

Users that have ZoneAlarm or similar software that block popups have reported this behavior.

If another program blocks a popup before Popup Manager has a chance to, the widget will never turn red and you won't be able to see the blocked popups.

You should uninstall or disable any other software that blocks popups.

How can I move the widget to the system tray?

You can't. I may investigate this in the future, but think it would be confusing.

Why does the popup menu contain both "yahoo.com" and "news.yahoo.com"?

This allows you to have different settings for a domain and a specific host on that domain.

For instance you can choose to block popups from all sites on yahoo.com(domain) but allow popups from news.yahoo.com(host).

How can I disable the Popup Manager for all IE windows?

This currently is not possible, it may be possible in a future release.

Popup Manager is blocking a popup that it shouldn't. What can I do?

If Popup Manager blocks a popup that it shouldn't you can hold down the "CTRL" while clicking one whatever is initiating the popup.

I've tried hard to make the Popup Manager smart, but it's not perfect.

Please email me with any links that you think are being incorrectly blocked.

Do I need to uninstall previous versions of Popup Manager before upgrading?

No. You can upgrade without uninstalling older versions of Popup Manager.

Can I import black/white lists from other Popup Manager programs?

No. This is not supported.

How come I don't see Popup Manager in task manager's list of processes?

Popup Manager runs inside of IE's process so you will not see it in task manager's list of processes.

Why is there file named "modern.exe" in the Popup Manager folder?

This is part of the installation program. It should be left there in case you want to uninstall.

What resources does Popup Manager use?

Popup Manager is only 90k installed. The installer is 180k to download. You shouldn't notice any difference in performance.

How do I add sites to the allow list?

While visiting the site that you want to add to the allow list:

1. Right click the widget

2. Choose "Allow Popups from 'site you are on' "

You can add a whole domain or a single host of a domain.

How do I add sites to the block list?

All sites are blocked by default, so there is no need to add them to the block list.

Sites will be added to the block list if you have allowed a domain to open popups, but have blocked a site on that domain.

For instance, if you allow the domain yahoo.com to open popups, and you block news.yahoo.com from opening popups, yahoo.com will show up in the allow list, and news.yahoo.com will show up in the block list.

If I donate can I remove the smiley face?

Yes, there is an option to hide the smiley face in the options dialog, on the "smiley face" tab.
I would appreciate it if you only remove the smiley face after donating.
